Pasta and Meatball Bake

Pre-heat oven to: 200°C/400°F/Gas 6
Time in oven: 30 minutes
Serves: 4


1 lb/450g lean minced beef
2 oz/50g canned sweetcorn, drained
2 tblsp tomato ketchup
2 tblsp oil
8 oz/225g penne pasta, cooked
1 lb/450g jar tomato pasta sauce
½ pt/300ml boiling water
2 oz/50g Cheddar cheese, grated


1. In a large bowl, mix mince with sweetcorn and ketchup.
2. Shape mixture into 16 meatballs and fry in oil until browned.
3. Place pasta in large oven-proof dish and arrange meatballs evenly over top.
4. Pour over jar of pasta sauce, mixed with boiling water, making sure that all pasta is covered.
5. Scatter with grated cheese, cook in oven until meat is browned and cheese is bubbling.
6. Serve with garlic bread and green salad.
