Oven Scones (2)


1 lb (450g) S. R. flour
4 oz (100g) margarine
1 dsp granulated sugar
2 tblsp treacle
1 egg


1. Rub margarine into flour to resemble breadcrumbs.
2. Add sugar, treacle and egg.
3. Add sufficient milk to make an elastic dough.
4. Knead and roll out on a floured board to 1/2″ thickness.
5. Cut with 2″ cutter and place on baking tray.
6. Bake in a pre-heated oven 200°C/400°F/Gas 6 for 10-12 minutes.
