Oatcakes (2)


8 oz (225g) oatmeal
4 oz (100g) wholemeal flour
pinch of bicarbonate of soda
pinch of salt
3 oz (75g) lard
4 fl oz (120ml) water


1. Put dry ingredients into a bowl.
2. Melt lard in hot water and allow to cool.
3. Add to dry ingredients to make a pliable dough.
4. Roll out in flour and cut as desired.
5. Bake in a pre-heated oven 160°C/325°F/Gas 3 for 40 minutes.
