Girdle Scones


8 oz (225g) plain flour
1 oz (25g) caster sugar
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
2 tblsp dried milk
1 oz (25g) margarine
1/4 pt (150ml) water


1. Heat the girdle.
2. Mix all the dry ingredients and rub in margarine.
3. Mix with water to a fairly stiff dough.
4. Roll out on a floured board into a round approx. 9″-10″.
5. Cut into 4 sections and transfer to girdle.
6. Bake and turn to do second side when under side is cooked.
