Cockles in Butter

Method
1. Wash cockles thoroughly and put in a large pan without water and heat until shells open.
2. Shell cockles and when cold toss in melted butter to which garlic and/or 1 dsp of sherry may be added if desired.
3. Serve with green salad and/or tartare sauce.
