2 lb/900g steak mince
6 oz/175g beef sausage meat
1 slice of bread, crumbed
4 tblsp porridge oats
2 onions, grated
1 large egg, lightly beaten
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tblsp tomato sauce
2 tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1. Mix mince and sausage meat together with a fork.
2. Add remaining ingredients, mix well and shape into burgers. A burger press makes this task much easier.
3. Cook both sides in hot frying pan with a little oil, or under a hot grill, making sure meat is thoroughly cooked through and juices run clear.
Note: Burgers freeze well but always use fresh mince and sausage meat, not frozen meat.
