Barley Meal Scones

Ingredients

8 oz/225g barley meal
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
½ tsp salt
2 oz/50g sugar
2 oz/50g melted margarine
hot water to make stiff consistency

Method

1. Heat griddle.
2. Mix all ingredients until stiff.
3. Divide into 4 pieces and roll out thin circles on some barley meal.
4. Cook on hot griddle, turning once, until ready.
