Argyll Steaks


1 pkt powdered tomato soup
1 pkt powdered mushroom soup
1 Oxo cube
4 steaks (sirloin or fillet)
1 oz (25g) butter
2 onions, diced
8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced


1. Mix tomato and mushroom soups and rub in dry Oxo cube.
2. Coat steaks on both sides with the dry mixture and place in oven proof dish.
3. Melt butter in frying pan and fry onions until soft.
4. Remove onions with slotted spoon and place on top of steaks.
5. Fry mushrooms in the remaining butter until coated and place on steaks.
6. Cover and leave overnight in fridge, or for at least 2 hours.
7. Cook in pre-heated oven 160°C/325°F/Gas 3 for 1 hour or until tender.
